A raised planting box and a tall climbing frame arrive as one piece, so vining crops such as cucumbers, sweet peas, peas and tomatoes are trained straight up the frame instead of sprawling across a floor you do not have to spare.
That makes it a fit for a patio, a balcony or a small paved yard rather than open ground.
And because the whole unit rolls, it can be pushed out of the way to clear the deck when guests are coming and rolled back afterwards.
An Adjustable Lattice, Not A Stake
The lattice rises from the back of the box to guide stems upward, and it adjusts, so the support can follow the crop instead of the crop being tied to a cane pushed into the soil.
The shell is molded in weather-resistant PP with a warm brown finish that blends with timber decking and terracotta.
Underneath, a reservoir built into the base stores moisture so soil dries out more slowly in warm weather, and four drainage points in the floor each take a plug for holding water in or letting it go after heavy rainfall.
Waist Level Work, Flat Winter Storage
The bed sits high on its castors, so sowing, tying in and harvesting all happen at waist level rather than at ground level.
The assembled unit measures 15.7 in wide by 15.7 in deep by 71.7 in tall, the planting box is 16.5 in tall with a growing area of 15 by 15 by 11.8 in inside, the lattice section spans 15 by 15 by 61 in, and loaded capacity is rated at 44 lb. All four castors lock, so it stays put once positioned.
Assembly is quick with the supplied manual, the frame separates again for flat storage, and the surfaces clean with a damp cloth.
