This heater drops into an outdoor bird bath and keeps the water liquid through freezing weather, so a yard, patio, farm or garden feeding station stays usable once the cold sets in.
The disc measures 5.12 by 5.12 in and is less than an inch thick, which lets it sit flat in the bottom of most shallow basins rather than perching above the waterline.
It is not only for songbirds. Chickens, squirrels, rabbits and other yard visitors drink from an open basin just as readily.
Hollow Aluminum Disc, Baked Finish
The body is aluminum alloy with a baked finish in milk white, a combination that resists weathering and stays unobtrusive against a stone or ceramic basin.
A hollow structure runs through the disc. That widens the surface in contact with the water and spreads warmth more evenly than a solid plate would.
The build is sealed against water, so it is made to stay outdoors through rain and snow. The gap in the center section is part of the design, not a fault.
Plug In, Then Leave It Alone
It plugs straight into a household outlet on 110V, 60 Hz supply with no controller to set up. The cord runs 40.16 in, so plan the basin position around a reachable outlet.
A thermostat sensor manages the cycle on its own. Heating starts at 68 F, holds a range of 77 to 78.8 F, and shuts off at 118 F.
Fill the basin moderately, since a deep fill slows warming, and let the disc cool before you clean it. At 0.9 lb it lifts out easily when the season turns.
