When will it actually arrive?

Can I leave it outside?
Under cover, yes. The IP45 rating covers damp air and splashing, which suits a porch, a covered patio or a sheltered entryway. It is not rated for direct rain, snow load or standing water, and the plug end should stay dry.
Does it need batteries?
No. It runs from a standard 120V, 60Hz US outlet on a 9.84 ft cable. There are no batteries to replace, which is why it can stay lit through a whole evening.
How do I control it once it's hung?
The handheld remote works from about 16.4 ft and covers on, off, mode, brightness and the timer. There is also a button on the plug itself that switches the 8 modes and sets the timer, so a lost remote is not the end of it.
Will one be enough for my mantel?
The light string is 7.87 ft with side branches of about 17.72 in. A standard mantel takes one with a swag; a long mantel, a full staircase, or a mantel plus a doorway usually takes two. Shipping is free at any quantity.
