Polypropylene Panels With A Slat Grain
The shell is moulded from polypropylene resin in a gray tone, with a slatted wood-effect texture running across the panels and the lid. It reads as timber from a few steps back and behaves nothing like it in the weather.
Resin sheds rain rather than soaking it up, so there is no swelling, no splitting and no annual coat of anything to keep on top of.
The surface carries a UV resistant treatment, which matters in an open position that catches full afternoon sun rather than sitting under a porch roof.
Snap Together, Then Wheel It Around
Assembly needs no tools at all. The panels clip together in a few minutes, and the empty box weighs 15.4 lb, so one person can set it up and place it without help.
Two wheels at one edge let a loaded chest roll across paving instead of being dragged, and moulded grips on the short ends give you something to hold when you tip or lift it.
Rinse the shell down with a garden hose when it gets dusty, and dry the inside before loading fabric items such as cushions. An integral hasp accepts a padlock, which is not supplied.
