Shade Without A Center Pole

This side-post umbrella hangs its 3 m (about 9.8 ft) canopy from an arm beside the pole rather than straight above it, so the pole stays out of the way of chairs, legs and conversation.

That leaves the shaded area open for a dining table, a pair of loungers or a play space on a patio, deck or lawn, with the pole set off to one side where it is out of the way.

Polyester Canopy On Iron Ribs

The canopy is a 160G polyester cloth in a coffee color, held open by eight iron ribs. The warm, neutral shade sits easily alongside wood decking, stone paving and outdoor cushions in most colors.

Opening and closing are both manual, so you can fold the canopy down at the end of the day, or whenever the wind picks up, and keep it closed while the umbrella is not in use.

Plan For A Base First

This version is sold without a bracket or stand, and the counterweight is not included either. Check what you already have before the umbrella arrives so you can set it up right away.

Arrange a suitable cross base and enough weight to press down on it before setting the umbrella up, because a large side-post canopy needs a heavy, stable base to stay upright in a breeze.
